1st NATIONAL FAMILY PLANNING CONFERENCE
The Department of Health (DOH), Commission on Population (POPCOM) and The Forum for Family Planning and Development, Inc. (Forum) are jointly organizing the 1st National Family Planning Conference on November 20-22, 2016 with the theme Accelerating Progress in Family Planning (FP): Policies, Good Practices and Future Directions. At least three hundred (300) national and local government officials, legislators, development partners, the academe, youth, and civil society advocates and practitioners are expected to attend this gathering. The conference objectives are as follows: 1/ provide an avenue for national and local government units (LGUs), development partners, the private sector, and civil society organizations (CSOs) including faith-based groups and persons with disability to share their good practices in FP interventions, 2/ to learn about new options, researches and latest innovations in FP technology; 3/ to know the progress of the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health (RPRH) Act of 2012 especially in FP; 4/ to obtain current developments in health governance and leadership particularly in the delivery of FP services, 5/ to determine the roles and actions of traditional and new media to advocate and popularize FP; and 6/ to recommend viable actions to advance FP in the country.
