More than
numbers: a primer on population for the local governments
-
The
1991 Local Government Code changed the country's political
landscape bringing into focus the additional tasks
handed down to the local governments, including of
course the management of its population. This primer
parallels the advantages of decentralization and local
population concerns -- the key lies in integrating
population factors into the local development planning
process.
Handbook
on basic demographic concepts: a guide for population
program workers, planners, professionals and students
-
POPCOM
has always worked hand-in-hand with local government
units and part of its noble cause is to equip these
local government units with the technical capability
in handling local population concerns. This handbook
explains, simplifies and clarifies basic demographic
terms and concepts using actual Philippine data to
achieve its purpose.
The Philippine
Population Management Program ( PPMP )
-
This
publication traces not only the historical roots of
the program but also enumerates its merits. It emphasizes
that people and not policies will spell the difference
though not discounting the direction that government
policies can help bring. The key lies how people as
individuals and as members of families, will decide
and carry out their decisions regarding marriage,
the number of children and a sustainable lifestyle.
Success

and Minds : Reaching Out to Young Filipino Through Information,
Education and Communication
-
"
The youth is the hope of the fatherland " and
so goes the ever-living cliche which has become vital
in the development of this publication. The Commission
has always been concerned with the proper molding
of young Filipino hearts and minds, that the Filipino
youth be educated and guided adequately towards responsible
adulthood. This takes up that challenge by presenting
